GROHE SPA to return to the Brera district during Milan Design Week 2026
For Milan Design Week 2026, GROHE SPA is set to return to the heart of the Brera district with its most ambitious vision to date: the Aqua Sanctuary. In a brief, 72-hour window following the final theatre curtain call, GROHE SPA will transform the Piccolo Teatro Strehler, one of Italy’s most significant cultural institutions, into an immersive environment dedicated to the brand’s ethos of 'Wellbeing through Water'.
Conceived as a captivating journey, the GROHE SPA Aqua Sanctuary explores the idea of a personal sanctuary as a state of complete wellbeing. Visitors are invited to step away from the vibrant pulse of the city and enter a carefully curated spatial realm where water sets the rhythm and guides the experience. Light, shadow, materiality and sound interact with flowing water to create atmospheres that engage the senses and slow the perception of time.
The installation unfolds across 3 interconnected sanctums, each reflecting a distinct state of being. Rather than focusing on individual products, the experience is designed to present a holistic interpretation of cohesive bathroom design, demonstrating how water can shape spaces that cleanse, rejuvenate and relax.
“At the Piccolo Teatro Strehler, we have envisioned a series of spaces that express the restorative power of water, creating exquisite moments of transcendence,” said Paul Flowers, chief design & brand identity officer & executive VP, LIXIL. “Milan Design Week is an invaluable moment for the global creative community to converge... The Aqua Sanctuary showcases a carefully considered ecosystem of colours, finishes, and materials, enriched by strategic partnerships and innovative material explorations. These collaborations empower architects and designers to easily specify harmonious spaces that redefine expressive interiors and invite emotional interaction.”
