KBSA Annual Conference skips a year with next event planned for spring 2027

The Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialists Association (KBSA) has announced that its next annual conference is confirmed for Thursday 13th May 2027 at The Belfry Hotel & Resort. In addition, a programme of regional events will be introduced across 2026 to bring the association closer to its members.

Following careful consideration, the KBSA Board has decided to move its flagship annual conference from its traditional autumn slot to May going forward. As part of this transition, there will be no standalone conference in autumn 2026.

“The decision reflects a clear-eyed look at the industry calendar,” said KBSA chair Richard Hibbert. “The autumn has become increasingly congested, with major new product launches, international trade exhibitions in Germany and the critical run-up to the Christmas trading season all competing for retailers’ time and attention. Factoring in holiday schedules and the general pressures many businesses face during that period, the Board concluded that a spring date offers a significantly stronger commercial proposition. It allows us to bring members and partners together at a time when engagement is high and planning for the year ahead remains very much in focus.”

Rather than simply stepping back from events in the intervening period, KBSA is turning 2026 into a significant opportunity for its retailer membership. In place of a single national conference, the association will introduce a series of regional events throughout the year, taking the association directly into the heart of the communities where its members operate.

The association believes that regional events mean more accessible, locally relevant conversations, stronger peer networks and a format that can respond to the specific commercial landscape facing retailers in different parts of the country. For many members, this will mean more direct, more frequent and more meaningful contact with the association than a single annual event has been able to provide.
