Laufen has announced the launch of the new Cleanet MEDA shower toilet, part of a collection conceived with Swiss designer Peter Wirz with a simple ambition: to be ‘Made for Life’. The Cleanet MEDA looks the same as a standard version and is only 10mm wider. It has a rimless ceramic form with vortex flush and a considered, architectural shape to suit both a pared-back interior and a more classical bathroom. It is available as a wall-hung version, helping to create a sense of space in smaller rooms, a floorstanding model for a more traditional aesthetic, or as a close-couple floorstanding version for bathrooms where a more conventional installation is needed.

The washing function has 5 adjustable settings for pressure, temperature and position, alongside oscillating and pulsating modes. The self-cleaning water nozzle provides a rear wash and lady shower option. After washing, the dryer uses the Coanda Effect to direct air with precision. In addition, the Cleanet MEDA’s heated seat has an adjustable temperature. The soft-close lid moves silently, while the ambient night light means the user can navigate a darkened bathroom without the overhead lighting that jolts you awake.

All of the above can also be personalised through the Laufen SmartControl app, so every member of a household can save their own profile, incorporating preferred water temperature and pressure, spray position, seat warmth and drying intensity.

“Cleanet MEDA sits within the broader collection, a complete bathroom world of washbasins, furniture and taps, all sharing the same quiet, refined design language,” said Natalie Bird, brand marketing manager for Laufen. “The Cleanet MEDA completes this picture: a shower toilet that belongs here, designed to make the whole room feel resolved. It is the difference between a bathroom assembled from disparate choices and one that has been considered as a whole.”
