Messe Frankfurt excludes exhibitors from Russia and Belarus

Messe Frankfurt has announced that in view of the tragic situation in Ukraine, it has decided not to admit Russian exhibitors as well as exhibitors from Belarus to its trade fairs until further notice. The company added that this applies to all countries of the Messe Frankfurt Group that have joined the sanction measures. Furthermore, Messe Frankfurt is also suspending all visitor marketing activities in Russia and Belarus until further notice.

The Messe Frankfurt Group is said to be the world’s largest trade fair, congress and event organiser with its own exhibition grounds. The Group employs approximately 2,300 people at its headquarters in Frankfurt am Main and in 30 subsidiaries around the world. In 2021, the company had to contend with the challenges posed by the pandemic for the second consecutive year. Annual sales will be approximately €140million after having been as high as €736million in 2019 before the pandemic.

Last week, Messe Frankfurt announced that it will be focussing "entirely on profitable revenue drivers" in order to restore the company to growth as soon as possible.
