New sales director joins Optidek to oversee regional expansion

Anthony Barker has joined Optidek as sales director and co-owner. He previously worked as design and showroom manager for nine years at Sheen Kitchen Design, a West London studio specialising in Poggenpohl furniture.

Previously known as Opticolour, Optidek was originally established in 2002 as a specialist manufacturer and installer of glass splashbacks and wall coverings. Having extended its portfolio to include wall coverings made from quartz and stone materials, the company recently partnered with Cosentino to fabricate and install 4mm Dekton Slim cladding.

Barker’s career in the KBB industry began at C.P. Hart, where he worked for 10 years. He moved to Deco Glaze as sales director for three years where he originally met and worked with Paul Robertson, who is now MD of Optidek. He then spent a decade working at Sheen Kitchen Design.

In his new role Barker is responsible for the regional expansion of the South West-based business, which has a network of account managers across London and the South, together with an office-based sales, marketing, service and administration team. He will also be introducing new brands to the company’s expanding product offer. MD Paul Robertson will continue to focus on running the manufacturing and fabrication arm of the business from its factory HQ near Bath.

Barker said: “I look forward to bringing Optidek’s unique product offer to a wide range of KBB specialists, architects and interior designers throughout the UK. As a glass, stone and quartz fabrication business with a network of dedicated account managers, it is our intention to delight our customers with our growing range of premium wall covering products, whilst focussing on delivering an outstanding service to them.”
