Spanish tile fair Cevisama 2023 hailed as success by organisers

Figures now in from the 2023 edition of Feria Valencia's Cevisama tile trade show have revealed that the exhibition received 74,115 visitors, with 25% of them coming from outside Spain. In addition, in a a survey carried out among the 436 exhibitors from the ceramic tile, natural stone and bathroom equipment sectors at Cevisama, the exhibition scored a high 8.9 points out of 10.

In answer to the question of how they value the number of total visitors received, 74% responded that it was high or very high. When assessing the number of quality foreign visitors, 78% of those surveyed stated that it was high or very high.

The director of Cevisama, Carmen Álvarez, said that the results of this survey confirm the positive atmosphere that prevailed in the exhibition halls throughout the week. "There are many exhibitors who had told us about it during the week", she said, "and now the results of this survey confirm that it is no longer personal opinions but the general feeling of the exhibitors."

With regard to the provisional balance of visitors to Cevisama, Alvarez highlighted that its international participation has grown in percentage terms. “In this edition, the representation of foreign buyers has risen from 22 to 25% of the total," she said.

As far as global data is concerned, the event has received a total of 74,115 visits of which 18,532 are confirmed to have travelled from abroad. Compared to the last edition, the global data registers a drop of 19.5% compared to the last pre-pandemic fair, however, organisers point out that this is in line with the major events in the sector, such as Cersaie, which in 2022 reduced its visits by 20%. Alvarez maintains this is a good figure as there are still some mobility restrictions in place, as well economic uncertainty and a demand crisis, which made a reduction in visits to Cevisama 2023 to be expected.

Alberto Echavarría, general secretary, ASCER, the Spanish ceramic tile manufacturers’ association, added: "Exhibiting companies at Cevisama 2023 have expressed their satisfaction with the event and with the good number of visitors received at the fair. The atmosphere was good and now we hope that in the coming weeks the contacts made during the show will translate into new business operations and new clients."
