John Schofield, sales & marketing director at shower tray manufacturer Just Trays, discusses how the industry can capitalise on the increase in bathroom renovations, and fulfil clients' renovation needs.

Now that we’re halfway through 2023, here at JT we’ve noticed a shift in homeowners' wants and needs when it comes to their bathrooms. Consumers are searching for more energy-efficient bathroom solutions that don’t sacrifice on style and overall aesthetic. 

Amidst the ongoing ecological crisis, homeowners are looking to invest in a bathroom that is kind to the planet. We’ve seen first-hand that conscious consumption is leading to consumers ditching the traditional centrepiece of the bathroom – baths – and are looking to replace them with functional yet stylish showering areas, particularly spa-inspired wetrooms. Consumers are keen to save as much water as they can to be not only kind to the planet but also kind to the pocket with rising energy bills.

With this in mind, retailers should be looking to promote the installation of shower trays that are flush to the floor to establish clean and minimalistic lines, creating the trending modern wetroom effect that homeowners are looking for.
