Kutchenhaus recruits James Slater as new head of central operations

German kitchen retailer Kutchenhaus has appointed James Slater as the brand’s new head of central operations. Joining from Magnet Kitchens where he was UK central operations manager, James is said to bring a wealth of experience to the role, having worked in the kitchen industry and wider retail for over 20 years.

With experience at brands such as the Co-op, LIDL and Tesco, James has worked across all layers of retail. Starting out on the shop floor, progressing in time to area manager, and then on to a role as retail operations manager for the UK at Co-op. In his previous position at Magnet Kitchens, James worked on the company’s sales to service strategy and was responsible for the customer experience of new stores, championing new ways of working and the end-to-end journey.

Based at the Kutchenhaus head office in Rochdale, his new position will see him heading up the Kutchenhaus support centre and streamlining processes as the brand continues its growth journey. James will offer further strategic focus for the business, providing leadership and experience.

Discussing his new position, he commented: “As Kutchenhaus grows as a business, its operations must remain strategic and efficient. I’m pleased to be taking on this role and working with a fantastic team. As a professional, I love working with likeminded individuals who want to grow. I’m passionate about developing people and this has been something I’ve found to be very rewarding throughout my career.”

Paul Lee, head of marketing at Kutchenhaus, commented: “We’re pleased to welcome James into the Kutchenhaus family and it’s great to see the team expand further. His vast experience when it comes to retail speaks for itself, and he will be a great asset to the business. With the ability to share his knowledge from numerous major retailers, we’re delighted to have him on board.”
