ISH 2021 will take place as a purely digital event

Messe Frankfurt has announced that ISH 2021, which was set to take place from 22nd to 26th March, has moved to become a purely digital event in light of the fact that both governments and companies are tightening travel restrictions as a result of the COVID19 pandemic. While pointing out that its exhibition halls can be continuously supplied with fresh air and are extremely safe enclosed environments, Messe Frankfurt acknowledged that it was not possible to hold such large-scale events at present.

“It is important for our customers that we make a decision at an early date, as it would otherwise be time for them to begin investing in their trade fair presentations," said Wolfgang Marzin, president and CEO of Messe Frankfurt. "Messe Frankfurt will continue working closely with its customers to ensure that its decisions serve the interests of the exhibiting industries,” he added.

The revised plans for the event involve offering a wide range of digital features including exhibitor presentations (products, information, videos, contact persons, chat functions and one-to-one video calls), intelligent matchmaking that delivers suitable business partners for AI-supported lead generation, live streams and on-demand broadcasts of the supporting programme, and appointments for online meetings with exhibitors. The programme of digital events will be available round the clock worldwide and in every time zone. More information is to be made available soon.
