Dornbracht has launched Dornbracht Atelier at Milan Design Week – a new business segment that offers tailored fittings starting at one single piece enabling architects, designers and developers maximum design freedom and the opportunity to create unique and unmistakable solutions.
“Dornbracht Atelier reflects everything that defines us as a luxury manufacturer: the courage to break new ground, an iconic design approach, and precise craftsmanship enable us to transform extraordinary design ideas into customised solutions. With passion and attention to detail, we support our customers with their very special challenges, whether aesthetic, technical or structural. This is how visions become reality – in the form of genuine, unmistakable one-offs,” said Dornbracht CEO Caroline Schmitt.
“My absolute highlight is the unique tap inspired by a swan. It is a reminiscence of a product that was created in our factory back in the 1960s, which we are now reviving – a harmonious symbiosis of history and modernity. At the same time, the swan exemplifies the high degree of individualisation and diversity that we offer with Dornbracht Atelier. From the initial design to the finishing touches, the fitting has been created with precise craftsmanship – for me, a masterpiece of perfect craftsmanship,” Caroline Schmitt added.
Dornbracht uses several other examples to show how different materials can be used to create individual pieces. These include a black and white version of Vaia with a shell finish: the contemporary interpretation of the traditional chequerboard pattern requires the highest level of craftsmanship and creates a dynamic, unconventional look. For Vaia, with a finish made from recycled eggshells, mosaics are put together according to the customer's wishes. Tara is similarly original with its velvet and gold body. The contrast between matte and polished surfaces creates a strong visual appeal.
