For a truly dramatic design flourish nothing beats a touch of darkness, and there are plenty of stunning new products that fit the bill – Emma Hedges takes a look at 10 stylish essentials.

1 - The new basin offerings from Waterworks function as statement pieces and are sculpted from a single block of Italian stone. All the basins are available in 2 sizes and may be further customised with either a pedestal base or a wall-mounted configuration to suit a range of design preferences. Clients can choose from a curated palette of 8 exquisite stone options: Fantastico, Bardiglio Dark, Cipollino Cremo, Nero Marquina, Paonazzo, Peperino Grigio, Portoro, and Prunella. Pictured here is the Carlo basin in Prunella.

2 - Featuring 3 models – Anno, Nema, and Mesa – Kast's Holm basins can be wall-hung (Nema and Mesa) or surface-mounted across the full range, with every piece handcrafted in the UK using locally sourced Derbyshire limestone. The basins can now also be customised with up to 2 colours per unit – customers can select from Kast’s signature 28-colour palette, allowing them to craft a basin that perfectly complements their space. Whether opting for a bold terrazzo insert or a more minimalist plain alternative, the updated Holm collection strikes the perfect balance between sophisticated style and functional design. 3 - BC Designs has recently launched a new painted finish option for its Cian solid surface baths so homeowners can opt for a truly personalised look. The double-ended Omnia bath with its distinctive curved rim is shown here with a bespoke deep plum colour, although the range of options also includes the eggshell Farrow & Ball and Little Greene paint ranges, along with a RAL colour-matching service so clients can fully customise their choice.

4 - A dark bathroom scheme also offers the opportunity to play with tones and finishes – here JTP's VOS Sensor Wall Spout in Brushed Brass provides a subtle highlight against bold surfaces like charcoal, deep green, or black marble, catching the light and lifting the scheme. Meanwhile, the Brushed Black countertop basin brings depth and definition to the same setting.

5 - For a whole suite of complementary dark bathroom products, look no further than Villeroy & Boch. Shown here is the company's Theano freestanding bath, which comes in a variety of colours including Pure Black, and is available in 1550mm, 1700mm and 1750mm lengths. Also pictured is the elegant Finion furniture and vanity unit, along with Conum fittings.

6 - The new Indico wall-hung vanity unit from Frontline Bathrooms is available in 600mm and 800mm versions, and comes in Matt White/Oak and Matt Black/Walnut, shown here. Designed and crafted in Spain, the Indico collection is defined by its handleless, minimalist silhouette and distinctive 3D contrast between super-matt lacquer and textured wood grain. Each unit features 2 soft-close drawers, designed for practical, everyday storage while maintaining a calm, clutter-free aesthetic. Matt Black/Walnut brings warmth and bold contrast, perfect for statement bathrooms or darker, tonal schemes.

7 - The Foundry Novo tile range from Ca' Pietra features an artisanal look along with a bold iridescent shine, and is now available in 6 new colours including inky Navy, rich Irish Green, and Alligator Green, pictured here. In this project by The Tap End, the Foundry range is teamed with Ca' Pietra's terrazzo Rialto collection in San Polo, with the large-scale dark chips adding extra drama to a sophisticated scheme.

8 - The impactful Glam collection from Frontline Bathrooms is all about the wow factor. The wall-hung vanity unit in sleek Matt Black features an eye-catching textured glass front, and is available in 700mm and 900mm versions, while the co-ordinating ceramic countertop basin helps the collection live up to its name.

9 - The latest addition to Swadling Brassware's range of solid brass bathroom brassware is Dark Bronze – a luxurious finish that exudes both warmth and understated elegance. Its unique depth interacts beautifully with light, adding a layer of visual interest and tactile richness to basin mixers, shower heads, and accessories. It's pictured here on a wall-mounted basin mixer with crosshead controls – black ceramic discs are also available for added impact.

10
- Bohemian Flame is a part of the Silestone Le Chic range of surfaces, and features intricate flame-coloured interlocking veins that add character and movement. Exuding a smoky moodiness for some darkness that doesn't overwhelm a space, it offers plenty of opportunity to bring in contrasting brassware finishes, as well as the practical benefits of being
scratch, stain, impact and water resistant – ideal for a bathroom environment.
