Wren joins DIY SOS build to deliver permanent youth hub in Beverley
Wren Kitchens & Bedrooms has supported the creation of a brand-new youth hub for Cherry Tree Youth Club in Beverley, East Yorkshire, as part of a DIY SOS build filmed in May 2025.
Located at Mudhills Park, the new Cherry Tree Community Centre Youth Hub gives local young people a permanent, safe and supportive place to meet, learn and spend time together. Previously, the group had been gathering in the local park with only a small gazebo for shelter, highlighting the urgent need for a dedicated indoor space that could be used all year round.
With the youth club close to losing its future, the DIY SOS team set out to build a new, purpose-built centre on the edge of the park. Supported by volunteers from across the community, and joined by stars from the BBC’s Gladiators, an empty patch of ground was transformed into a welcoming youth hub in just nine days.
As part of the project, Wren supplied and fitted a fully functional kitchen and utility space, designed to support the centre’s day-to-day activities while creating a welcoming environment for young people and staff alike.
The main kitchen features an Infinity Plus kitchen with Ultra frontals in Cloud Blue Satin. Laid out in a G-shape, the space includes a breakfast bar and AEG appliances, including a dishwasher, fridge and cooker hood. A fully fitted utility room was also installed, featuring Ultra frontals in Grey White, an AEG washer dryer and two AEG freezers.
Speaking about Wren’s involvement, Raf Klimek, COO, said: “It’s been a privilege to support this project and help create a space that will make a genuine difference to young people in the local community. Having a permanent, well-equipped youth hub means Cherry Tree Youth Club can offer a safe, welcoming environment all year round, and we’re proud to have played a part in bringing that to life.”
The completed youth hub will allow Cherry Tree Youth Club to continue supporting local young people, providing a safe, welcoming space where they can connect, take part in activities and access support when they need it most. The DIY SOS episode featuring the Cherry Tree Community Centre Youth Hub aired on BBC One on 30th December 2025.
