Villeroy & Boch CEO Gabi Schupp steps down after 7 successful years
Gabi Schupp, who has played a key role at Villeroy & Boch AG since 2019 as a member of the executive board and since 2024 as chairwoman of the executive board, has announced she is stepping down from her role as CEO for personal reasons and will hand over her responsibilities on 31st May 2026. She will continue to be available to the company in an advisory capacity.
“On behalf of the supervisory board, the owner families and the entire workforce, I would like to express my sincere thanks to Gabi Schupp for her consistently trusting and constructive partnership over the past 7 years,” said Andreas Schmid, chairman of the supervisory board.
“As chairwoman of the executive board, she has led the company with great personal commitment and played a key role in its further advancement. She leaves behind a company that is ideally positioned for the future. Particularly noteworthy is the integration of Ideal Standard, the largest acquisition in the company’s history, which Gabi Schupp used as a catalyst with entrepreneurial vision and great skill to transform a company with a long tradition into a forward-looking group."
Gabi Schupp, CEO of the Villeroy & Boch Group, said: “The past few years have been an intense and formative period for the company and for me personally. The integration of Ideal Standard is complete, the company’s transformation is progressing well, and the key foundations for further successful development have been laid. Against this background, I have decided to turn my attention to new challenges. I would like to thank the owner family, the supervisory board, my colleagues from the executive board and, above all, the entire workforce at Villeroy & Boch for our shared successes over the past 7 years.”
Villeroy & Boch AG has revealed that in future, the company will adopt a more collegial management structure with a spokesperson for the executive board. Following the AGM and the handover of responsibilities, this role will be assumed by Georg Lörz, a member of the executive board of Villeroy & Boch AG since 2020.
The future executive board comprises 4 members and is structured in line with the strategic priorities: Georg Lörz is responsible for the Bathroom & Wellness division and will assume the role of executive board spokesperson. Dr Peter Domma heads the Dining & Lifestyle division as well as the digitalisation and IT departments. Dr Markus Warncke remains responsible for Finance. Esther Jehle is responsible for Human Resources & Organisational Development and heads the operations department within the Bath & Wellness division.
