CRL Stone’s Pantheon Grey delivers seamless sophistication in kitchen transformation
As homeowners continue to seek surfaces that combine standout design with everyday practicality, Pantheon Grey from CRL Stone offers kitchen retailers, designers and fabricators a compelling solution for contemporary projects.
Part of the CRL Quartz collection, Pantheon Grey features a crisp white base interwoven with bold grey marbling, creating a striking yet timeless aesthetic. In a recent Cheshire kitchen renovation, the surface was selected to bring light, movement and a premium finish to a redesigned family space.
A contemporary family kitchen
The project centred around the transformation of a 1970s-built detached home in Helsby, Cheshire. Originally characterised by bold colours and exposed brickwork, the property has been gradually reimagined into a modern, light-filled family home.
Working alongside Gareth Lewin of PJL Installations, the homeowners wanted the latest kitchen redesign to elevate both the functionality and visual impact of the space. At the heart of the brief was a large island that could work as a practical preparation area, sociable hub and striking design feature.
With anthracite windows, internal glazing and bifold doors already in place, the kitchen needed a worksurface that would complement the darker architectural details while keeping the overall scheme bright and open.

Statement style with practical appeal
Pantheon Grey was chosen for its ability to anchor the design while enhancing the sense of space. Its bold grey veining introduces depth and movement, while the light background reflects natural light throughout the room. Subtle warm tones within the surface also help connect the worktop with surrounding materials, creating a cohesive and considered finish.
For trade professionals, the project demonstrates how a carefully selected quartz surface can deliver both visual impact and long-term usability. As part of CRL Stone’s quartz range, Pantheon Grey provides a durable, non-porous surface that is resistant to scratches, stains and heat, making it well suited to busy family kitchens.
Seamless installation possibilities
A key requirement for the design was to achieve a clean, uninterrupted finish with minimal joins. This was made possible thanks to CRL Stone’s super jumbo slab size of 3470 x 2010mm, which allowed for a generous island surface with a refined, seamless appearance.
Expertly installed by Worktop Solutions, the island also features a waterfall edge, with careful vein matching creating continuity across the surfaces. The result is a strong focal point that immediately enhances the sense of quality within the kitchen.
The larger slab format also enabled further bespoke detailing, including a complex window sill formed from a single piece. The worktop runs seamlessly into the bay window, incorporating the sink cut-out and drainage grooves while maintaining complete visual continuity.

A surface that elevates the whole scheme
The completed kitchen balances elegance with practicality. By day, natural light reflects across the pale tones of Pantheon Grey, enhancing the room’s openness. By evening, integrated lighting creates a warm, inviting atmosphere, making the space equally suited to everyday family life and entertaining.
Combining marble-inspired design with the performance benefits of quartz, Pantheon Grey shows how CRL Stone surfaces can help retailers, designers and fabricators deliver high-impact kitchens that meet the demands of modern living.
