Duravit AG officially appoints Michael Demmer as CEO and chairman

The Supervisory Board of Duravit AG has appointed Michael Demmer as CEO and chairman of the management board. Michael had been serving as interim CEO following the recent departure of Stephan Patrick Tahy. 

In a statement, Duravit AG said that the appointment underscores the Supervisory Board's ‘confidence in the strategic direction that Michael Denmer has driven forward in recent weeks’.

Gregor Greinert, chairman of the Supervisory Board, said: “In a very short time, Michael Demmer has provided decisive impetus and developed a compelling strategic vision for Duravit’s future. On this basis, we have decided to officially appoint him as CEO and to consistently continue on the path we have chosen.”

The statement added that under Michael’s leadership, ‘Duravit is consistently aligning its corporate strategy toward sustainable value creation, premium positioning, and operational excellence’. 

Michael Demmer said: “Duravit has a strong brand, a long tradition, and great potential. I am grateful for the trust placed in me and look forward to taking the next steps together with the team and shaping the company’s future in a sustainable way.”
