Swadling Brassware launches redesigned range of concealed thermostatic shower valves

Swadling Brassware has unveiled a completely redesigned range of concealed thermostatic shower valves, which the company describes as the ‘most significant overhaul’ of its core product in its history.

It was Swadling Brassware’s founder, Jeremy Swadling, who was the first to bring thermostatic technology to the UK. Now, Swadling's in-house design team has reimagined the concealed thermostatic valve from the ground up, resulting in a new range of concealed castings.

The new castings are available in single, double, and triple controlled outlet versions. The triple-outlet model allows simultaneous control of an overhead shower, handset, and bath spout or body jets – giving specifiers and installers the flexibility to design multi-function showering experiences from a single concealed valve. Every model in the range also features an open or auxiliary outlet, which can be independently controlled via a separate stopcock to add a further outlet where needed.

The castings are manufactured in the UK and built around Fluehs flow control cartridges and a Vernet thermostatic cartridge, components chosen for their reliability and longevity. Every valve is then assembled by hand by Swadling Brassware, where each individual unit is tested to confirm there are no leaks and that every cartridge performs as it should.

Safety testing goes a step further: each valve undergoes a cold water shut-off test that simulates a burst pipe, confirming that the thermostatic safety mechanism cuts off within a set time period to prevent scalding.

Every model in the range features isolation valves that can be easily operated to service the cartridges, without the need to shut off the mains, reducing disruption for both installers carrying out maintenance and the households relying on their water supply.

The new valves are available as first fix, supplied without trim, or complete with trim sets from Swadling's Illustrious, Invincible, Engineer and Absolute collections, giving specifiers the flexibility to confirm the finishing details later in a project. Muck covers are supplied on all controls as standard, protecting the product throughout installation.

In a move reflecting the industry's wider shift towards sustainability, Swadling has removed all plastic from the packaging of the new range.
