Ideal Standard has appointed Jan Peter Tewes, pictured left, and Jonas Nilsson, right, to the roles of joint chief executive officers following the departure of Torsten Türling.
Jan Peter Tewes joined Ideal Standard International in October 2018 as chief commercial officer and Jonas Nilsson joined in January 2019 as chief operating officer. As a result of a reorganisation of the company into business segments back in September 2020, Jonas Nilsson was appointed as president – sanitary ware, and Jan Peter Tewes as president – fittings, in addition to his role as chief commercial officer.
Ideal Standard said that the organisation of the business into segments marks the completion of a major transformation, and that both Jonas Nilsson and Jan Peter Tewes have been instrumental in leading the change. It believes that the company's operations footprint has been technologically upgraded, and that the business is now more streamlined, and better aligned to meet its customers' needs.
Graham Oldroyd, chairman of the board, commented: “On behalf of the board, I would like to congratulate Jan Peter Tewes and Jonas Nilsson on their future new roles. Individually, each is already an accomplished leader with a successful track record. Together, they bring a wealth of experience to the direction of Ideal Standard.”
