Malmo stickdown LVT answers market demand with 13 new decors

The Malmo luxury vinyl tile (LVT) collection has undergone a design update with 13 new additions to its stickdown offering. The complete Malmo collection now offers a total of 57 designs – 25 stickdown designs and 32 rigid – including the award-winning Senses range.

Described by the brand as 'fashionable and functional', the 13 new stickdown decors comprise seven planks, five tiles and a herringbone style. Designs span large square tiles, woodgrains ranging from warmer tones to cooler, neutral shades, and light grey herringbone.

Malmo has enhanced its choice of stickdown LVT designs to ensure that the collection has a versatile offer for areas where a click installation is not suitable. A fully adhered floor will withstand variations in temperature and weight, and is said to be ideal for occasions such as a kitchen floor being installed before the cabinetry. It can also be used in conservatories and open-plan spaces with bi-fold doors and skylights, where there can be ‘hotspots’ from direct sunlight. There is also no need for additional trims such as door profiles or scotias, as no expansion gaps are required.

Gail Alcock, flooring director for Malmo, said: “The Malmo collection has come a long way in recent years due its ability to deliver stylish and authentic looks, while offering the high-performance qualities of a technical, manmade material that is flexible for different installations, highly stable and very easy to clean and maintain.

“This is a significant upgrade to the range and the new stickdown finishes recognise the growing appeal of LVT flooring in home renovation, new build and commercial settings, and offers a great deal of sales potential for retailers, especially with the post-pandemic boom in moving or improving. We are very committed to developing Malmo as a brand of choice through our extensive investment in product design, retailer support and after care service.”

Malmo stickdown LVT features a 0.55mm wear layer, is tested to R10 slip resistance, is compatible with water-piped underfloor heating systems and also sound absorbent. The range has a 25-year domestic wear warranty, with 10 years for commercial applications.

An updated website, brochure and point-of-sale package has been developed to support the launch of the new stickdown designs. The Malmo LVT range is distributed by International Decorative Surfaces.
