TKC invests £1m to offer customers enhanced paint-to-order service

TKC invests £1m to offer customers enhanced paint-to-order service

TKC has invested £1million in upgrading and extending its in-house spray facility at its HQ in Denton Manchester, to offer an enhanced paint-to-order service across multiple door ranges available on its On Trend and Jigsaw portfolios. The new facility will be fully operational from the 1st March, under the guidance of group operations director, Neil Munro.

The investment will be housed in a new 3,000sq ft building adjacent to TKC’s existing spray facility housing a market-leading Cefla semi-automated paint line. The robotic machinery boasts technology that delivers a smooth matt painted finish with the assurance of consistently high quality. TKC will also continue to offer a textured variant, which has proved highly popular over the last 10 years.

The new line will double the company’s capacity to supply paint-to-order doors, while maintaining the highly competitive lead time of 10-15 days. The paint-to-order service is currently available on the Lucente, Vivo, Cartmel, Cambridge, Newmarket, Windsor and Ascot door ranges with no minimum order quantity.

The investment recognises the popularity of painted kitchens and gives TKC greater flexibility in offering a wide colour palette across its door ranges. TKC’s colour palette has been extended to 28 in 2022 with Amazon Green, Fir Green, Sapphire Blue, Dusky Pink and Anthracite the latest additions.

The latest investment is part of ongoing operational improvements to ensure TKC continues to maintain its service levels, while responding to high customer demand. The business has invested in facilities, fleet and people and has increased stock levels to a record £8m to mitigate ongoing, industry-wide supply-chain challenges and ensure on-time, in-full performance for customers.

Roy Saunders, CEO at TKC said: “We’re committed to continually improving our operation and service proposition to our customer base and are delighted to make this significant investment in our inhouse spray facility. TKC as a business is growing rapidly, and our new facility will increase our capacity, maintain our market leading supply times, while still allowing us to offer our colour match service.”
