Italian extractor hood manufacturer Falmec has been honoured with two more design trophies at the 2022 iF Design Awards. The two new models selected to receive these prestigious awards are the Spazio 130 extraction centre and the ‘Light’ island hood, pictured.
Despite measuring only 130cm wide, the new compact Spazio model preserves all the notable ‘smart’ features of the original 180cm version. The innovative hood structure houses electrical sockets and USB ports to keep connected while cooking and incorporates multiple accessories including shelves for storing dishes and other items plus a biophilic "green" area for herbs and other plants in an indoor garden.
The ‘Light’ boasts an ultra-compact body and geometric lines in a minimal design. Multi-Air technology provides widespread suction with extremely reduced height. The system includes very efficient filtering equipment, thanks to Carbon.Zeo technology. The upper part of the hood's body is enclosed by two smoked glass panels and two black satin aluminium profiles with integrated LED for the ultimate in kitchen lighting.
The iF Design Award is one of the world’s most prestigious design awards. Organised in Germany since 1953, the iF seal signifies good design for consumers and the design community. An independent jury of 132 high profile design experts from over 20 countries made up this year’s iF panel held in Berlin in March.
