KBB distributor PJH has launched a new internal initiative – ‘Always working with wellbeing in mind’ – in order to recognise the positive impact good employee health and wellbeing has on the success of its operations.
Designed to establish mental health and wellbeing as central to its entire business, the initiative encompasses four key areas – Physical Wellbeing, Mental & Emotional Wellbeing, Working Environment Wellbeing, and Social Wellbeing – which the company says have all been identified as key to a healthy, happy and productive workforce.
Richard George, CEO of PJH, pictured, said: “One of the positives to come out of the Covid pandemic was just how important the health and wellbeing of employees is to the success of our business. This initiative recognises this and establishes its support of employees formally within all of PJH’s operations under the guiding message, ‘Always working with wellbeing in mind’.
“The wellbeing message is being rolled out across all our sites with new benefits and activities being introduced continuously. Many of the ideas being developed are as a result of discussions with our colleagues through regular staff ‘forums’ allowing people the opportunity to feedback on our efforts and make suggestions.”
The approach builds on a number of activities PJH has already in place that help promote wellbeing, such as its regular ‘PJH Get Togethers’, where employees have the opportunity to meet up and chat with colleagues and managers, to now include a growing benefits package including a Cycle to Work Scheme, Private HealthCare and Gym Membership programme. One of the most welcomed initiatives is the extra day’s holiday being given to staff for birthdays.
