Tile of Spain is participating in Milan Design Week, which is running from 17th-23rd April.
The organisation, which describes itself as the voice of the Spanish tile industry, is presenting ‘Seating experiments with Spanish ceramic tiles’, an installation designed by Tomás Alonso that features tiles from 16 Spanish brands. It is based around the concept of using seating to create micro-spaces, microarchitectures that favour human interactions around the activity of sitting. The seats have been designed so that they can reused in other public or private spaces in Milan after the event.
The 16 Spanish companies that have participated in the installation are: Arcana, Argenta, Azteca, Ceracasa, Cevica, Decocer, Dune, Estudio Cerámico, Gayafores, Porcelanosa, Roca Tiles, Saloni, Tempio, Vives, Wow and ZYX.
This event is part of the Spanish tile promotional plan in Italy, co-financed by ICEX Spain Exports and Investments and ASCER, the Spanish ceramic tile manufacturers’ association, and managed by the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in Milan.
Visitors can view the installation at the Interni magazine space at the University of Milan (Via Festa del Perdono 7).
