BLANCO CHOICE receives expert ergonomics appraisal

Premium sink and tap manufacturer, Blanco, has announced the findings of a comprehensive ergonomics report of its CHOICE drinks system, and the findings which will help kitchen designers, architects and showrooms guide customers through a kitchen renovation.

Conducted by top ergonomist and industrial designer Steve Rutherford, pictured, the report highlights the CHOICE ICONA tap’s intuitive design, user-friendly controls and market-leading functionality. The 2-phase research programme involved a detailed ergonomics assessment by Rutherford in stage one with the resulting evaluation providing an in-depth analysis of the usability and design of the CHOICE ICONA tap. Stage 2 reviewed consumer decision-making and the reasons for choosing BLANCO CHOICE when renovating the kitchen water place.

Blanco has made a name for itself for providing a complete and holistic approach to the kitchen water place, and last year CHOICE launched as its hero product. The drinks system offers filtered still, sparkling and boiling water from a single, sleek unit, eliminating the need for bulky appliances and producing higher quality drinking water. Rutherford's findings confirmed that Blanco has created an advanced, yet intuitive product that enhances the kitchen experience.

“BLANCO CHOICE is easy to use, delightful to touch and easy to remember. It’s innovative, safe, well-designed, and desirable. The ICONA tap gives the user a feeling that it is on their side when they’re trying to live their lives. BLANCO CHOICE is like having a personal sous chef,” said Steve Rutherford.

Tamsin Mills, Blanco brand communications manager, said: “The new ergonomics report by Steve Rutherford will give kitchen showrooms, designers and architects an authoritative reference point when communicating the benefits of a BLANCO CHOICE drinks system. It is designed to be an aid to show homeowners how incorporating an advanced tap into their kitchens can help streamline tasks at the water place and make kitchen life that bit easier.”
