Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa takes a sustainable approach with Dornbracht ReCrafted
The grand Baden Baden hotel, Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa, retained its design classic Madison fittings in its latest refurbishment by opting for Dornbracht ReCrafted. The hotel's 30-year-old original fittings were removed, refurbished by craftsmen at the factory in Germany – and given a new lease of life.
Opened in 1872, Brenners has been one of the most exclusive hotels in the world for many decades, and after a 2-year renovation phase, the 5-star hotel reopened in October 2025. The focus of the renovation was on conserving resources: among other things, numerous pieces of historic furniture and wallpaper were upcycled, and building technology that meets the highest ecological standards was installed.
The bathrooms, which feature Dornbracht ReCrafted fittings, also reflect this concept: the opulent Madison design series has been an integral part of the rooms and suites for over 30 years. As part of the renovation work, the fittings with their nostalgic Art Deco look were removed and transported to the factory in Iserlohn, where they underwent handcrafted remanufacturing. At the end of the multi-stage process, during which the originals were given new finishes and functional parts, they were reinstalled.
Dornbracht ReCrafted saves around 40% of CO2 emissions per refurbished fitting compared to a new product. This avoids unnecessary material waste. “The ReCrafted project at Brenners not only shows how timeless the design and how high-quality the materials of our fittings are”, says Caroline Schmitt, general management at Dornbracht. “The reuse of the originals also makes a considerable contribution to the hotel's sustainability efforts. Our Madison thus builds a bridge between the rich history and the future of the hotel.”
