Samsung Electronics UK appoints new head of division for Home Appliances
Samsung Electronics (UK) Ltd has named Johnathan Marsh as its new head of division for Home Appliances in the UK and Ireland, within its Home Entertainment and Appliances (HEA) division. The appointment is designed to further strengthen the leadership team formed earlier this year when Samsung amalgamated its TV/AV and domestic appliances businesses into a unified team, with a shared focus on delivering seamless, connected experiences for consumers.
Johnathan joins Samsung with more than 25 years of experience across some of the UK's most respected omnichannel retailers, including John Lewis, Currys and Dunelm, where he held senior leadership roles spanning consumer electronics and the home.
In his new role, Johnathan will lead the overall performance and strategic direction of the home appliances business across the UK and Ireland. His immediate priorities include strengthening further relationships across key retail partners. He will also be tasked with accelerating premium growth in the established categories of refrigeration and laundry alongside driving sales momentum in emerging appliance categories, in particular Built-In.
Johnathan’s customer centric approach alongside his experience of delivering innovative, commercial strategies means he is well placed to drive progress within an increasingly competitive UK appliance market. He also has a track record of spotting growth opportunities such as developing the smart home category at John Lewis, and will therefore play a central role in also advancing the HEA division's broader connectivity story.
Dan Harvie, vice president of Samsung’s HEA Division for the UK & Ireland, said: "Jonathan brings exactly the kind of experience, energy and retail insight to enable us to take our home appliances business to the next level. He knows our brand, he knows our partners, and he knows what it takes to build categories that customers genuinely connect with. Having someone of his calibre join the team at this stage of our journey is a real statement of intent and I’m incredibly pleased to have him on board."
Johnathan added: "I've admired Samsung for my entire career and had the privilege of working alongside the brand as a partner for more than two decades, so I’m relishing the exciting new challenge that lies ahead.
“One of the biggest opportunities I have identified is helping consumers understand how connected technology, premium design and energy efficiency can genuinely improve everyday life. Simultaneously, as a brand we need to support our retail partners in bringing that story and proposition to life effortlessly both in-store and online. I'm also looking forward to working closely with the team and our partners to identify where consumer needs are evolving and building new categories around them. There's real momentum in this area and I'm here to help drive it forwards."
