Kast, the award-winning bathroom design brand renowned for its luxury concrete basins, has announced the appointment of David Knight as its new MD. Prior to joining Kast, Knight served as MD at Swiss home appliance manufacturer V-ZUG, where he successfully established and grew the company's UK/IE business. Under his leadership, V-ZUG is said to have experienced significant revenue growth and expanded its distribution network while maintaining a strong focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility. Knight's career also includes key positions at companies such as Miele, LG, and Electrolux.
Commenting on his appointment, David Knight said: "I am thrilled to join the talented team at Kast and lead the company into its next phase of growth. Kast's commitment to innovation and craftsmanship resonates with me, and I am excited to build upon its strong foundation to drive further success in the luxury bathroom industry."
Situated on the outskirts of Sherwood Forest in the UK, Kast is celebrated for its pioneering designs and vibrant colours. Following Kohler's acquisition in May 2023, one key aspect paramount to Kast is the preservation of its authentic identity as a British design brand. Tim Bayes will move to the role as founder, ensuring the essence and design of the brand endures going forward.
Working closely with both Tim Bayes and David Knight is Kast's creative director, Amy Bartlett, who brings extensive design expertise to Kast. Since 2016, she has played a pivotal role, contributing to various creative aspects. Bartlett's emphasis on tactile, 3-dimensional surfaces and hands-on design exploration with materials has been instrumental to the business's design and research arm. Leveraging her experience, she will guide Kast in shaping innovative designs while maintaining the brand's visual identity during integration into Kohler’s Luxury Brands Division.
